The Author

softrockcookie, commonly known as Sebastian Spanner, born on the wonderful 22nd of octobre, 1985 in the excellent Austrian city of Linz, son of two wonderful parents (Peter and Margit) and brother of his beloved sister Bettina, is the bogus genius behind this blog. He studies socio-economics at the Johannes Kepler University and besides working (unregularly) as DJ in the popular and well-known hard rock café Pub Aps

Aged 15, he accidentially got access to the ideas of Marxism, above all its development and defence through the great theoretican Ted Grant and his international tendency, which Der Funke is the official Austrian section of, and of which softrockcookie is a cadre member. Far from being completely convinced, softrockcookie took some time (ok, it was over 4 years, seriously!) off the Marxist duty and spent most of the time learning for his final and other exams. In this time he was also busy with taking a round through the political backyard to see what’s going on there also, but ultimately came back to the best of all sources: genuine Marxism. Aged 19, he began his further political activity at “Der Funke”.

After a long period being used to common homepages around himself he did the jump to web2.0, using the domain for a blog, first also around his person and later – respectively now – as a platform for his political ideas and in support of political campaigns.
